Genesis

Dr Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya is situated inside the President’s Estate, New Delhi. This Vidyalaya is at the Centre location of Delhi. This Vidyalaya was established in 1946 as Primary School during the British regime. In 1949 was handed over to the Commissioner, Delhi then it was upgraded to Middle Level in 1952. In 1962 was taken over by DoE, Delhi and upgraded till XII.

On 27th June 2019, it was handed over to KVS as a three section School. The Vidyalaya was taken over on as is where is basis under special project mode with special admission guidelines.

The Vidyalaya is funded by President’s Secretariat Governing Bodies for Smooth functioning of Vidyalaya Steering Committee headed by Joint Secretary to President, Vidyalaya Management Committee, headed by Director to the President
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
